Hip House and the Hip Hop Jives

The first element that livens up any party-evening is the pop-rap music and the beats to which you dance. A party without music is almost close to impossible but not just any music will work to make your get together a hit!
You need the right hip hop music to make your world rock and to get your people on the floor.  Initially it started with House music.

House music became popular in the early 1980’s; around the same time when early hip hop was emerging. The discos began to play-it-on in the Latin and African American communities. Since things with universal appeal don’t often take time to travel, the genre also spread widely reaching Europe very soon from Chicago, where it started. There has been much debate on how the name " House" came into existence… some believe it was the "warehouse" effect since they played it hard and often or because the artists made the music on their own, in their homes; but there is no certain answer.

It is few years down the line that this music merged with our popular themes to make the Hip-house music. These are the songs to which we dance and it is quite a favorite among the youth even today. Possibly one of the most interesting cultural mixes can be noted in its emergence as the very first song of this genre was recorded by Beat Masters Productions (U.K.) and Cookie Crew called "Rock da house". (The video is available by the name Beat Master & Cookie Crew - Rock da House on you-tube). However, the journey hasn’t been that simple; nor for the artists nor the genre. The makers of the firs recorded song ever faced the challenge when Tyree Cooper prompted "Turn up the Bass", 1989, as the first mix-genre record. There were many such stories for the claim-to-fame; demanding the premier position. On the other hand there were critiques who didn’t acknowledge the very form as music! They went on to label it as "just another disco theme"; much to the disappointment of the ardent fans.  

Though logically speaking hip house is too contemporary to be dismissed easily. What began as ware-house hip hop music has made a very comfortable transition to club music with rap rock beats that will get you on the floor – moving, shouting and cheering. From the soul and funk roots that were the inspirations what we have today is electro house crossovers; with bass line pulses and electric drums. Try listening; the reverberation has almost touched your feet!
